Matthew 21:22 - And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive

Why should I PRAY?

God commands us to pray without stopping in 1 Thess 5:17  “Pray without ceasing [stopping].”

These are the reasons why you should pray to God the Father:

1.  When you pray you are talking to God and telling Him what you need or want.

2.   Prayer is a way to talk to God about what someone else may need or want.

3.   God can not answer your prayer if you do not talk to Him and ask for things.

4.   God knows what you need and He will decide how to answer your prayer in a way that will benefit you the most.

5.      Remember the most important thing is to Rebound and be in fellowship with God.  If you are not in fellowship, God can not hear your prayer.  If He can not hear your prayer, He can not answer your prayer.

How do I say a PRAYER . . . step-by-step?

Your prayer should follow these steps:

1.   Start your prayer by speaking to God the Father and saying "Dear Heavenly Father"

2.      Rebound – First tell God the Father about your sins.  These are the things you have thought, said or done wrong.  Be honest, because God knows every thought you think, hears all your words, and sees all the things you do and He always forgives you. Remember . . .  1 John 1:9 - If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

3.      3.  Thanksgiving – Thank God for all of the things He has given you.
a.
Those you love:  parents, family and friends.
b.
The things you need to live: food, clothes and a home.
c.
Spiritual things including the Bible, your a bible-teacher & church.  AND for parents that teach you about God and his Word.
d.
Target for logistical grace: prefect righteousness from your +R, your position in the Lord Jesus Christ as a believer.
e.
Thank God the Father for all He provides for you.

4.      Pray for others - your mom and dad, brothers, sisters, grandparents, family, friends, teachers, and other people that you care about.  This can include sad or sick people too!

5.      Pray for yourself – It is okay to ask God for things for yourself, but remember He will provide for all of your needs, but He may not provide everything you want.  God is always fair and just and He knows what you need most.

6.      End your prayer by saying “in Jesus Christ’s name I pray, Amen.”
